Intercom Repair in Beverly Hills
When your intercom stops working, you need it fixed fast. The Tech Guys Doors and Gates repairs every major intercom brand in Beverly Hills. We’ve fixed DoorBird video intercoms, Aiphone hardwired systems, DoorKing callboxes, and Panasonic wireless units across the city.
Most problems we see are wiring failures, dead speakers, app connectivity issues, or electric strikes that won’t release. We carry parts for DoorBird, Aiphone, ButterflyMX, UniFi, 2N, DoorKing, LiftMaster, Panasonic, and Linear. If your system can be repaired, we’ll fix it. If it needs replacing, we’ll tell you straight.
Intercom Brands We Repair in Beverly Hills
Video Intercom Systems
- DoorBird – Relay failures, app connectivity, camera fog, POE issues. We stock replacement parts.
- ButterflyMX – Cloud connection drops, tenant directory problems, door release timing. We reconfigure the system.
- 2N – SIP registration failures, RFID reader issues, touchscreen calibration. Enterprise-level troubleshooting.
- UniFi (Ubiquiti) – Network isolation, firmware rollback, NVR integration. We know the UniFi ecosystem.
Audio and Telephone Entry
- Aiphone – Speaker crackling, handset failures, wiring shorts. Common in older Beverly Hills estates.
- DoorKing (DKS) – Programming loss, phone line issues, keypad wear. We reprogram directories on site.
- LiftMaster – MyQ app sync failures, gate relay timing, operator communication errors.
- Linear – Board failures, power supply issues, entry code problems.
- Panasonic – Battery replacement, range issues, base station resets.
Locking Hardware We Service
Your intercom connects to locks, strikes, and gate operators. When the intercom “works” but the door won’t open, the problem is usually downstream:
- Electric strikes – Worn solenoids, burnt coils, or corroded contacts. We test with a meter and replace the strike if it’s dead.
- Mag locks – Holding force drops when the electromagnet weakens or power supply sags. We check voltage under load and swap units if needed.
- Electrified panic bars – Von Duprin, Falcon, and Detex bars jam when the motor or solenoid fails. We rebuild or replace the electrified trim.
- Electric dead latches – Bolt won’t retract when the intercom triggers. Usually a relay or wiring issue between the intercom and the latch.
- Keypads and card readers – Worn buttons, cracked screens, failed RFID antennas. We replace HID, DoorKing, and Linear readers.
Common Intercom Problems in Beverly Hills
No Audio or Garbled Sound
Static, echo, or complete silence on the speaker. In older systems this is almost always corroded wiring or a blown speaker. On IP intercoms it can be a codec mismatch or bandwidth issue. We test the audio path end to end.
Video Feed is Black or Blurry
Dirt on the camera lens is the most common cause. IR LEDs burn out after a few years, killing night vision. On DoorBird and 2N units we clean the lens, replace LEDs, and check the network for bandwidth bottlenecks.
Door or Gate Won’t Release
You press unlock in the app, hear the click, but the gate stays locked. The relay inside the intercom fires but the strike or mag lock on the other end is dead. We bypass the intercom and test the lock directly to isolate the problem.
Tenant Directory Lost
DoorKing and Linear telephone entry systems lose their programming after power outages. We reprogram the full directory and install a battery backup so it holds through the next outage.
App Won’t Connect
DoorBird, ButterflyMX, and UniFi intercoms need a stable network connection. Router firmware updates, ISP changes, or a new WiFi password can knock them offline. We assign a static IP, verify port forwarding, and test push notifications on your phone.
Beverly Hills Intercom Repair FAQ
How quickly can you get to Beverly Hills?
We’re based in LA and Beverly Hills is one of our primary service areas. Same-day appointments are usually available. Call before noon and we can often be there by afternoon.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace my intercom?
Depends on the problem. A relay replacement or wiring fix runs $150-$400. If the main board is fried on an older system, a new DoorBird or Aiphone install ($800-$2,500 including labor) usually makes more sense than sourcing obsolete parts.
Do you work on apartment building intercoms?
Yes. We service multi-tenant DoorKing, ButterflyMX, and 2N systems. We can reprogram tenant directories, fix individual unit stations, or upgrade the entire panel.
Can you fix my intercom if another company installed it?
Absolutely. We repair all brands regardless of who did the original install. We’ll assess the system, diagnose the issue, and give you a straight answer on what it takes to fix it.
