Intercom Brands We Install in El Segundo
Video Intercom Systems
- DoorBird – German-made IP video intercom. Smartphone app, HD camera, no monthly fees. Our most popular residential pick.
- ButterflyMX – Cloud-based video intercom for apartments and multi-tenant buildings. Visitors call directly to your phone.
- 2N – Enterprise-grade IP intercom from the Czech Republic. Touchscreen directory, RFID access, SIP integration.
- UniFi (Ubiquiti) – Self-hosted video intercom for tech-forward homes and offices. Runs on your local network with no cloud dependency.
Audio and Telephone Entry
- Aiphone – Hardwired audio and video intercoms. Reliable for decades. Common in El Segundo properties.
- DoorKing (DKS) – Telephone entry callboxes for gated communities, apartment buildings, and parking structures.
- LiftMaster – Gate intercom with MyQ app integration. Works with existing LiftMaster gate operators.
- Linear – Budget-friendly telephone entry for small commercial properties and HOAs.
- Panasonic – Wireless intercom systems for homes and small offices. Easy to add handsets.
Locking Hardware and Access Control
An intercom is only useful if it can actually open the door or gate. We install and wire the locking hardware that connects to your intercom system:
- Electric strikes – Replace or add to your mechanical lock. The intercom sends a signal, the strike releases, and the door opens. Most common for lobby and pedestrian gate entry.
- Mag locks – Electromagnetic locks that hold 600-1,200 lbs of force. Popular in commercial buildings. We wire them to your intercom and add a request-to-exit button inside.
- Electrified panic bars – Push-bar exit devices (Von Duprin, Falcon, Detex) with electric latch retract or electric strike. Required by fire code on many commercial doors.
- Electric dead latches – Stronger than a standard strike. The bolt retracts electrically when the intercom triggers it. Good for high-security residential gates.
- Keypads and card readers – HID, DoorKing, and Linear keypads give tenants or staff a way in without calling the intercom. We program them alongside your intercom system.
Our Installation Process
Here’s how a typical intercom installation works in El Segundo:
Initial Evaluation
We check your current setup to see what’s already in place. Some properties have wiring from an old intercom that we can reuse. Others need everything from scratch. We also check your Wi-Fi signal strength at the gate if you’re going with an IP system.
Quote and Scheduling
You get a written quote covering equipment, labor, and any additional hardware like electric strikes or mag locks. No hourly billing with open-ended costs. Once you approve, we schedule the install at a time that works for you.
Installation
We handle the full job from start to finish. Cable runs, conduit installation, equipment mounting, lock hardware, and system programming. For residential jobs, we’re usually done in half a day. Multi-unit buildings take 1-3 days.
Final Walkthrough
We show you how to use the intercom, manage users, and adjust settings. We test the system with you watching so you can see it work. You get our direct number if anything comes up after the install.
El Segundo Intercom FAQ
Is there a monthly fee for video intercoms?
DoorBird, Aiphone, and UniFi have zero monthly fees. ButterflyMX charges a monthly per-unit fee for their cloud platform. 2N offers optional cloud services. We’ll explain the ongoing costs for each brand before you decide.
Can the intercom unlock my gate and my front door?
Yes. We can wire the intercom to release multiple locks at different entry points. You’d have separate unlock buttons in the app or on the indoor station for each door or gate.
What if I have bad Wi-Fi at my gate?
We run a hardwired ethernet cable from your router to the intercom whenever possible. It’s more reliable than Wi-Fi, especially for video. If hardwiring isn’t an option, we set up a dedicated Wi-Fi bridge or access point near the gate.
Do you service intercoms you didn’t install?
Yes. We work on all major intercom brands regardless of who installed them. We troubleshoot the issue, source replacement parts, and get your system working again.
