DoorBird intercom with gate integration. Driveway, pedestrian, and multi-entry installs. Full property access from your phone.
The Tech Guys were extremely thorough in assessing and fixing my front gate and DoorBird intercom. We are definitely adding them to our list and highly recommend working with them.
The Tech Guys Doors and Gates is an authorized DoorBird installer serving West Los Angeles, from Brentwood and Westwood to Pacific Palisades, Mar Vista, and the Sunset Strip. We handle complete IP video intercom installations including network configuration, gate and door strike integration, smart home connectivity, and ongoing repair and support for existing DoorBird systems.
An IP video intercom is the first upgrade we recommend to any West LA homeowner thinking seriously about security. DoorBird connects your front door or driveway gate to a smartphone app, lets you see and talk to visitors from anywhere in the world, and triggers your gate or door strike with a tap. For gated communities, corporate offices, and multi-tenant buildings, DoorBird is one of the few systems that scales without adding monthly per-user fees.
Call (310) 400-0314 to schedule an on-site assessment. We’ll walk your property, look at your existing wiring and gate hardware, recommend the right DoorBird model for your application, and provide a written installation quote.
DoorBird is engineered and manufactured in Germany, and the build quality shows. Every unit uses V4A marine-grade stainless steel housing rated for continuous outdoor operation, an operating temperature range of -40°F to 140°F, and power-over-ethernet (POE) for a single-cable installation. The cameras are 180-degree wide-angle with HD resolution and infrared night vision.
Unlike consumer doorbell cameras, DoorBird isn’t locked into a single cloud ecosystem. The systems integrate natively with Control4, Crestron, Savant, Loxone, Elan, and most major smart home platforms. There are no monthly per-user fees for standard operation, and local network storage is available as an alternative to cloud recording.
If you’re not sure which DoorBird model fits your property, call us with a photo of your current entry setup and we’ll recommend the right model and installation approach.
We repair existing DoorBird installations as well as installing new ones. Common issues we see on service calls:

The single most common mistake on DIY and low-end installer DoorBird setups is the gate integration. DoorBird has two dry-contact relay outputs that can trigger gates, door strikes, and garage doors. Getting this right requires matching the relay timing and wiring configuration to what your specific gate operator expects — LiftMaster, DoorKing, FAAC, and All-O-Matic each handle trigger inputs slightly differently.
On a proper installation we test the full trigger path, verify voltage levels, set timer pulse durations, and cycle the gate at least ten times to confirm reliability. We also set up the second relay for a pedestrian door strike or garage door when applicable. If your existing DoorBird “clicks but doesn’t open the gate,” the fix is almost always a relay timing or wiring adjustment — not a new DoorBird.
We install and service DoorBird systems for all types of properties in West LA and the surrounding areas:
We cover all of West Los Angeles and adjacent areas for DoorBird installation and repair:
How much does DoorBird installation cost in West LA?
Pricing depends on the DoorBird model you choose, wiring requirements, and gate integration complexity. Typical single-unit residential installations start in the mid-range and scale up for multi-tenant buildings, estate installations with multiple entry points, or full smart-home integration. Repair service calls on existing DoorBird systems run $350–$750 for most issues. We provide a written quote on-site after walking the property.
How long does a typical DoorBird installation take?
A standard residential installation with existing ethernet wiring takes three to five hours. If we need to run new cable, configure a POE switch, or integrate with a complex gate operator, plan for a full day. Multi-tenant building installations can take one to several days depending on unit count.
Can DoorBird replace my existing wired intercom?
In most cases yes. DoorBird units are available in sizes that fit standard intercom cutouts, and we can often reuse existing low-voltage wiring with a POE injector. On older multi-tenant buildings with proprietary intercom wiring, we typically run new Cat6 to each unit or use a PoE backhaul to a central DoorBird system.
Does DoorBird work with my smart home system?
DoorBird integrates natively with Control4, Crestron, Savant, Loxone, Elan, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and most major platforms. If you have a specific system in mind, call us and we’ll confirm compatibility before quoting.
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
No monthly fee for basic operation. DoorBird offers optional cloud subscriptions for extended event history and advanced features, but the core functionality including app access, live view, two-way audio, and gate triggering works with no recurring fees.
Can DoorBird trigger my existing gate operator?
Yes. DoorBird has two dry-contact relay outputs compatible with any LiftMaster, DoorKing, All-O-Matic, FAAC, Elite, or Viking gate operator. We wire and configure the relay timing correctly during installation so a tap in the app actually opens the gate.
What’s your warranty on DoorBird installations?
Our installation labor is warrantied for one year. DoorBird hardware carries the manufacturer warranty, typically two years on the unit and longer on certain components.
